Wonderful, heartfelt words. As a former member of the thin green line family, I stand with Lorne 100%. What has happened to him is a travesty. Treatment delivered by people who should know better.
I cannot believe that this officer has been betrayed just because he didn’t respect the perpetrator who to his credit did not even jump on the bandwagon to castigate this heroic officer - I think the letter you have written is absolutely outstanding and should be some solace for the family - I have donated and I live in North West Essex
A wonderful letter that both honours Lorne & puts Dorset “command” to shame.
Sadly those that instead of giving support to a respected & heroic officer, decided to punish him & lower morale still further not just in Dorset but across the UK. Not showing enough “courtesy and respect“, ffs.
This heartfelt letter emphasises how proud his family can be of him. Thank you PC Lorne Castle for all you’ve done. 👏
Well said, his family can be rightly proud of him as he too should be proud for the service he gave, even if he feels saddened at being let down by a force that it seems are not fit for purpose. I would think the families of their Chief Constable and those behind the witch hunt, will probably be ashamed of them and rightly so. Good luck Lorne and family, keep your heads held high.
What a great letter which has articulated perfectly what we feel. I retired after 30 years as a uniformed Police Constable, albeit RPD but this Officer is the sort of Officer I would want by my side.

Fantastic, heartfelt letter.
Well said indeed. Poignant and true.
